Racing Louisville FC's ownership group, Soccer Holdings, is exploring the sale of a minority stake in the club to an outside investor, according to a report from ESPN. The move is aimed at keeping the club competitive in the National Women's Soccer League, where other teams are growing in strength. Soccer Holdings, chaired by John Neace, is looking for additional investment to support the club's growth. When reached for comment, a spokesperson for Racing Louisville FC said the club does not have an equity partner lined up and that Soccer Holdings would not intend to sell its controlling interest in the club or relocate it to another city. The club's valuation is $127 million, which is lower than 11 of its competitors in the NWSL. Attendance figures for Racing Louisville FC are also on the lower end of the league, with an average attendance of 5,409 in 2025. The club recently defeated the Portland Thorns, the No. 1 team in the standings, 3-1 at Lynn Family Stadium on May 8. NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman is aware of Soccer Holdings' interest in a partial sale of the club. The league had no comment regarding the developments. Racing Louisville FC ranks 14th in the NWSL's 16-team league after eight matches played. The club's ownership group is evaluating strategic opportunities to ensure the club has the resources to compete at the highest level. Soccer Holdings believes in the club's future and invites the community to join them at Lynn Family Stadium in support of Louisville's only top-tier professional team. The stadium can host up to 15,000 guests. Denver Summit FC, one of the expansion clubs for the 2026 season, reported more than 63,000 in attendance for its inaugural home opener on March 28, representing the largest crowd for a single NWSL match.
